National Braille Literacy month

With development originating over 200 years ago, Louis Braille’s code of raised dots to create and form texts readable to blind people is one of today’s most utilized forms of alternative communication.  Think for a moment that you had to interpret your favorite movie like ‘Harry Potter’ to braille in order to understand the story.  Thankfully, in today’s world braille is becoming increasingly more entwined in everyday technology. Displays in all forms are now available to users via tablets, smart devices and computers both near and far making it easier to read any webpage text or email on an attached baille communication device.  January is National Braille Literacy month so promote and celebrate literacy in your community today! #CommunicationIsKey
